Last week, our Intensive English students had a wonderful language exchange thanks to English-speaking volunteers from our community who came out to help them practice. 💬📚 We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who gave their time, encouragement, and conversation — your support makes a real difference. And we’re so proud of our students for their confidence, effort, and the progress they continue to make each week.

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of our Ostional Reading Program with a wonderful group of 25 seventh-grade students! For the past four months, the students met once a week to strengthen their reading comprehension and—most importantly—to discover the joy of reading. This program was made possible thanks to: 📚 Mr. Walter, the English teacher at the high school, who generously volunteered his time and talent to guide the group. 📚 Guanavista, whose community fundraiser earlier this year provided the educational supplies needed to support the students. Together, we’re building stronger opportunities for students in our community. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de celebrar la finalización del Programa de Lectura de Ostional con un hermoso grupo de 25 estudiantes de sétimo año! Durante cuatro meses, los estudiantes se reunieron una vez por semana para fortalecer su comprensión lectora y, lo más importante, para descubrir el gusto por la lectura. Este programa fue posible gracias a: 📚 Señor Walter, profesor de inglés del colegio, quien voluntariamente dedicó su tiempo y conocimientos para guiar al grupo. 📚 Guanavista, cuya actividad de recaudación de fondos a inicios de este año permitió comprar los materiales educativos necesarios para apoyar a la escuela. Juntos estamos creando mejores oportunidades para los estudiantes de nuestra comunidad.

🎭 Despedimos el Mes del Adulto Mayor con un alegre pasacalle de mascarada tradicional 🎉 El pasado viernes, nuestros adultos mayores caminaron desde Rancho Tico hasta el Salón Comunal, acompañados por niños de los grupos de lectura y otros miembros de la comunidad. Todas las máscaras fueron hechas a mano en la biblioteca por voluntarios — ¡una verdadera muestra de creatividad y espíritu comunitario! 💃🕺 🎭 We wrapped up Seniors Month with a joyful traditional masquerade parade 🎉 Last Friday, our seniors walked from Rancho Tico to the Community Hall, joined by children from our reading groups and other community members. All of the masks were handmade at the library by volunteers — a true display of creativity and community spirit! 💃🕺
